During the past 60years, Harlow has developed an enviable artistic reputation and Harlow Playhouse is celebrating this fact by staging an all-singing, all-dancing show to mark the town's diamond jubilee.
Showcasing the finest young talent that has been nurtured and developed at the town's premier performing arts venue, Bugsy Malone promises a night of good old-fashioned razzamatazz. The ledendary spoof ganster movie that made a star of 12-year-old Jodie Foster is finally coming to the Playhouse's main stage, courtesy of The PLayhouse Theature COmpany. The prohibition era story of wise guys Bugsy Malone who, whilst trying to woo new girl Blousey Brown, finds himself caught up in the feud between mob heavyweight Fat Sam and his flamboyant nemesis Dandy Dan has been a family favourite since the film was released in 1976. The stage version has all the great songs from the movie, inclding Fat Sams Grand Slam, My Name Is Tallulah, So You Wanna Be A Boxer and You Give A Little Love. Utilising a cast of approximately 50 highly talented young performers, and with the production standards that you have come to expect from PTC this promises to be an absolute must see for every member of the family, whatever their age - but be warned: you might just get splurged...
