Mad Hatters Tea Party Kicks off Anniversary Celebrations

Harlow Council’s celebrations for the town’s 60th anniversary started in full swing on Saturday (24 March) with a Mad Hatters Tea Party. The special event was hosted by the UK's Children Entertainer of the Year, Michael J. Fitch and included special guests from Alice in Wonderland and the Caeserette's (Fat Sam's dance troupe).

Council Chairman Gregory Peck started the celebrations by opening the mad hatters tea party in market square. Despite the cold weather the event was well attended by around 150 children. The Gibberd Gallery's Saturday Art Club moved venue's for the day to help out with the Tea Party so children could take part in making mad hats and taking part in the Mad Hatters competition.

The Tea Party also played host to a giant Birthday Cake which was handed out to everyone, a big thank you to Muchies Cakes (based in the Town Centre) who provided the cake!
