To sample the work of local artists, designers and craftsmen, check out the Gallery at Parndon Mill. Nestling on the banks of the river Stort, Parndon Mill spans close to a millennium of history from its first mention in the Domesday book, to the present day. Primarily used for milling flour the mill now runs as a centre for creative activity.
In the outbuildings and old stables a variety of crafts flourish, including jewellery, porcelain, carpentry and alternative furniture. Artists and craftsmen based at the Mill range from painters, sculptors and print makers, to photographers, potters and architects. Each September they hold an annual open studio for visitors to see how and where they work, providing a unique insight into the creative process.
On the ground floor an intimate, easily accessible art gallery is open to the public and features work of professional artists and craftsmen who live and work locally. The exhibitions of fine art or craft either focus on the depth and variety of the work of a single artist, or the work displayed may share a theme interpreted by several artists.
Visit the gallery to enjoy the exhibitions, view work through a visual image database and buy from a selection of original prints, paintings and crafts available for sale. Current exhibitions can be found from the What's On calandar by clicking here.
