David Atkins was born in London in 1937. He studied at St. Martin’s School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools and lives in London and Malvern. He is a painter (working in oil and watercolour), designer, photographer and teacher.
Although his early works were influenced by Mondrian, he now paints from nature, as in Hedge Entrance. As an industrial designer, he has worked with architects to produce decorative designs in stained glass, wrought iron and marble – The floor of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral is probably his most impressive work. He exhibits in various London galleries.
