Roland Suddaby was born in West Riding, Yorkshire in 1912 and died in 1972. He studied at Sheffield College of Art.
Working in the tradition of English watercolour landscape artists, many of his paintings were of Yorkshire, Suffolk and Essex. He also designed textiles, prints and fabrics. His work is represented in many English galleries, in the Mellon Collection, USA and Australia. He died in 1972 whilst curator at Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury, Suffolk.
