SMITH Richard Shirley

Richard Shirley Smith was born in 1935 and lives in Blewbury near Didcot. He studied at Slade School of Fine Art and in Rome.

He is perhaps best known as an illustrator of fine books, Folio Society etc., but his most important works are those where his exceptional imagination is untrammelled as in Fatal Allegations.

He had more than 20 one man shows and 12 mural commissions between 1970 and 1975 in London’s Eaton Square, Princes Gate and Kensington Palace Gardens to name but a few.
