DRING William

William Dring was born in London in 1904 and died in 1990. He studied at Slade School.

Dring painted both portraits and landscapes, working in watercolour, pastels and oil. He was an Official War Artist to Admiralty and Air Ministry and many of his portraits of soldiers and officers are now in the National Maritime Museum, London. He has painted portraits of the Queen and Prince Charles and is represented in public galleries.
