A Play Strategy for Harlow 2007-2012

Children’s play and recreation are of vital importance in Harlow. We want play to be inspiring and enjoyable, promoting achievement and a healthy lifestyle, whilst being safe and inclusive. Play and recreation must be promoted and celebrated for all children and young people. It can be formal and structured as well as informal and unstructured.

The strategy outlines how in the next 5 years Harlow's Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership will achieve its vision by working in partnership with statutory agencies, schools and the voluntary sector to create exciting opportunities for play that are sustainable. We have consulted widely with children, young people and parents and this will continue to drive our strategy forward in the coming years.

The strategy applies to the children and young people under 18 years in Harlow and specifically looks at play opportunities that are fully inclusive and are available completely free of charge.
