If it's theatre you're after, The Playhouse Theatre is the place to visit. 

The programme includes traditional theatre (both professional and community-based companies), ballet and contemporary dance, classical music events, comedy and one of the best-known and loved pantomimes for miles around.

The Playhouse also hosts a wide range of community arts activities including dance classes and an in-house theatre company. The Playhouse Theatre Company involves members of the community in all aspects of theatre production and produces a number of fully staged productions each year. In addition, various spaces at The Playhouse are available for hire for performances, workshops and corporate events.

The Playhouse provides the stimulus, encouragement and opportunity for everyone to enjoy the experience of live theatre and the performing arts. 

With a history of hugely successful shows The Playhouse really does have something to suit everyone!

The Playhouse 400 Club

Looking for an ideal gift for a theatre lover? Why not sposor a seat in that special someone's name and help the Playhouse at the same time. The Playhouse 400 Club seat sponsorship scheme offers sponsors names on the seating plan in the foyer as well as individual sposor plaques on the seats themselves. A single payment offers sponsoreship for life, and all money raised goes to the Harlow Playhouse Charitable Trust, which helps support the work opf the Playhouse. 

Existing sponsorships have been taken for friends and relitives, by companies wishing to the support the building or as a permanent memorial to a departed loved one. Single seat sponsorships start from as little as £80.

The Playhouse Supporters Club

The Playhouse supporters club is for people who love the theatre, and for people who want to help support the Playhouse. The club raises money for the Playhouse via raffles and quiz nights - a recent purchase has been a Baby Grand Piano. Members also help with publicity by manning stalls at various events and functions.

In return, members are offered a range of benefits including two for one ticket offers on selected shows and films and theature trips to London and Southend. Members can also receive much earlier notification of shows via email so they can take advantage of priority booking. On selected shows, members are offered after show talks and backstage tours.

The annual membership fee is £10 for each member running for one year from the time of joining.

Costume & Prop Hire

The Playhouse Theatre Company provides a comprehensive costume and prop hire service.

- All needs catered for from single costumes for fancy dress parties to full productions.
- Fitting and altering service.
- Transport arranged for large orders
- Various senic cloths and settings available.
- Range of productions including Cinderella, Wizard of Oz, A Midsummer Night's Dream and many more.

Playhouse Theatre School

The Playhouse Theatre School offers classes in Drama and Musical Theatre for all ages from pre-school to adult. These classes encourage participants to develop their understanding and enjoyment of theatre. All classes take place in our fully equipped Rehersal Stidio with full technical facilities.
