The Museum of Harlow

Harlow's story...

For a fascinating tour of the town's history from pre-historic times to the present day call into The Museum of Harlow. Displays include Roman artefacts, exhibits illustrating the development of the New Town and the Collins' cycle collection. Particular highlights include archaeological discoveries from Harlow's Roman Temple site. The fascinating displays of objects and memorabilia are housed in five galleries within a 19th Century Stable block of Mark Hall Manor.

Delve into your family history using the Museum's extensive reference library, which includes:

* Harlow Archive Access Point
* A complete set of local newspapers from 1953
* Photographs, slides, tapes and videos
* Maps and plans
* Other printed memorabilia such as programmes and scrapbooks

The Museum is based in the former stable block of Mark Hall Manor House and is home to Mark Hall Gardens - a series of four, beautifully landscaped gardens, well worth a visit.
