The Gibberd Garden was designed by Sir Fredrick Gibberd, master planner of Harlow New Town, in the ground of his own home. It has been described as one of the most important gardens of the 20th century.
Set on the side of a small valley, with terraces, pools and streams, it provides the setting for architectural salvage, large ceramic pots, a gazebo and a moated castle. There is also an avenue of lime trees, a waterfall in the brook and even a children's moated castle with drawbridge.
