This is one of a series of sculptures based on Mills' artist 'heroes'. Other works were based on Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Orson Welles and William Blake. The sculpture reflects the artist's recollections of Keaton as he appeared in the film The General. Mills donated it to the Trust in 1994.
