The Gibberd Garden
Designed and realised by Sir Frederick Gibberd and recognised as one of the outstanding gardens of thee 20th century in the country, the Gibberd Garden is open to the public three afternoons per week in the season and have a number of special events throughout the summer:
17th June: Our established Jazz Picnic, a fixture in our calendar for many years
18th/19th June: The local CAMRA Beer Festival week-end, a successful promotion, now in its fourth year
17th July: A Promenade Concert by the Busoni Ensemble, followed by a Buffet Lunch
August: Date tbc: An open-air production of The Importance of Being Earnest by the professional company Dot Productions, who performed The Comedy of Errors in the Garden in 2010,
Visitors could follow their own private trail round the sculptures at any of these events, as the whole garden will be open to everyone attending the performances.
Opening times: 2 - 6pm, Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from April to September.
The Gibberd Garden is proud to host the launch of Essex Summer of Art on 19th May.
